Is it necessary to get a wedding planner?
Me and my fiancee are planning to get married in Denver this April, and have a budget of around $10,000. I realize this is a very small budget but we still want to be able to do things nicely so we cannot waste alot of money. Both of us have almost no experience with weddings so there is alot of room for us to make mistakes, so we would like to hire a planner but are aprehensive of the cost so we would not want to do it unless it is completely necessary

I’m groom’s man, how much to budget?
One of my best friends called me last night and asked me to be one of his groomsmen for his wedding in six months. Of course I said I was honored and would be happy to be, but today I read some information at the following URL:
http://weddings.about.com/cs/weddingparty/a/Groomsmen.htm
The author states that there is “considerable expense” in being a groomsman. How much do I need to budget and start crash saving for this?
I am a full time graduate student, so needless to say finances are tight. However, I believe I can work out anything as long as I can plan in advance.
I had to accept the honor considering that I was the one who set the two of them up on their first date.

My partner thinks weddings are a waste?
Ever since I met my boyfriend, he thinks weddings are a waste of money just for a one day. My family is paying 50%, and agreed on his parents they pay the other 50%. THE PARENTS ARE PAYING! I want this to be a beautiful day for both of us! I dont know many people whose parents pay for their weddings. He wants a small party, without the walk, dress (i dont)
I want a normal weddings, i want a dress, i want to walk down the ile, i want to exchange rings, etc
I dont mind having a party like he wants to, but I want an actually weddings! (we dont have a tight budget).
How could I make him change his mind?
