How do I get my fiancee more involved in our wedding planning without scaring him off?
I am trying to get my fiancee involved with our wedding, but everytime I bring it up he tells me that I am doing to much for the wedding. He keeps telling me that I don’t need to start planning now. That I should wait a few more months to start planning the wedding. But our wedding is less then 10 months away. I am also having to find hotel rooms for our families but he wont give me all the names of the people that are going to be there. So I don’t know how many rooms to book. I need some major help. Please help me anyone!!!

Wedding Budget Challenge
As you plan your wedding, the most important task you have is to set your wedding budget. Weddings are expensive events. The average cost of a wedding in the America is more than $20,000. The honeymoon is not calculated in the cost. Although $20,000 sounds like a lot of money for a one-day event, keep in mind that it is an average and a many weddings cost significantly more.
No wedding budget is ever too big. It is your budget not your imagination that sets the limits of what you can or can’t do on your wedding day. Formal weddings in hotel ballrooms or other trendy wedding reception venues will require a much bigger budget than a reception held at your parents house. Normally, formal weddings are more expensive because everything about them is expensive such as the food, music, etc.
The summer months are the most popular and most expensive months of the year to get married. Due to the high demand during the busy wedding season, hotels and other wedding reception venues can ask higher than usual prices. If you must have a summer wedding, expect to pay a premium.
The more guest you invite to the wedding, the more money you’ll spend. You have to calculate your food budget based on a per-head cost for food and liquor. The type of meal you serve your guest is limited by your budget. For instance, seated dinners are more expensive than a buffet style dinners.
Some locations are more expensive than others. Certain cities such as New York and Los Angeles can be expensive, but far away places can be just as pricey due to high travel costs and the lack of competition.
Don’t worry if your wedding budget doesn’t cover everything you can dream of. It may require compromises, scheduling changes, or simply begging for more money, but even with a small budget you can plan a beautiful wedding.
Developing the wedding budget is challenging, and the bride and groom should work on it together. If your parents are footing part of the expenses, you have to involve them in the process too. Traditionally, the bride’s family covers most of the expenses. Today, such tradition is not necessarily relevant. The bride and groom normally pay for most of the weddings.

Two nephews, two weddings this summer. Should the gifts be in the same price range?
I’m in a dilemma. My two nephews have weddings this summer. The older one got married already, and his younger brother gets married next month.
The older brother and his (now) bride are minimum-wage workers. The wedding was a very heart-felt, simple church wedding, done inexpensively. The family provided most of the food, decorations, etc. The bouquet was just 6 daisies tied with a ribbon, for example.
Now the younger brother is getting married, with a catered dinner and dance. It is going to be a much more expensive wedding for this brother and his fiancee, who are both “go-getters” with good jobs.
Should I spend the same amount on each couple’s gift? Does it make a difference that the younger brother and his wife will be spending substantially more to entertain their guests at their upcoming wedding? I am very fond of both boys and their fiancees, and cost is a factor in my personal budget.
Thank you for any advice!

Fun Ideas for Your Budget Wedding Reception
When planning a wedding reception, there is nothing that says a couple MUST just have a sit-down dinner at a reception hall. This is a good time for the creativity of the couple to come shining through, especially if your friends and relations share some kind of special interest.
One fun idea for your budget wedding reception is to plan to have a family-style picnic, either in your back yard or at a local park like a town or state park where you can rent a picnic shelter. This allows you to take advantage of anything special available at the site like a swimming pool or barbecue pits that may be available. You can also allow the people attending to provide their own foods for the day, and be responsible only for providing the wedding cake as dessert, and beverages like lemonade for the group.
By selecting this type of event, you provide fun activities as well as allowing the guests to change out of any formalized dress they might have worn for the actual ceremony. This will allow your guests to more fully relax and can help to take some of the burden off you in the form of reduced costs for the reception. Often the cost of the rental of a picnic pavilion will be far below that of a reception hall with catering.
Other activities available at this kind of site can include volleyball games, football games, baseball games and the space necessary to conduct races or activities for the kids in who might be in attendance to keep them less bored and more engaged to keep them out of mischief. Depending on the rules of the site chosen, cleanup can be as simple as policing the area you are utilizing (easier with the participation of other guests) and seeing that the garbage is contained appropriately for pick up.
Another fun idea for your budget wedding reception is to schedule it in conjunction with some sort of event put on by a group that caters to a shared interest like a medieval faire or sci-fi or comic convention. If the bride and groom are members of the group sponsoring the event, they can usually work with the sponsoring group to make appropriate accommodations for the reception. By sharing in some of the costs of the event, the bridal couple can find exceptional savings over what it would cost to rent a hall.
Members of the bridal party and any interested guests could put on appropriate costumes to attend the event, and chances are they couple could enlist other members of the group to help find costumes or other appropriate clothing for anyone who didn’t have any but were interested in having some to better participate.
One final fun idea for your budget wedding reception is to have the option of hiring live music for the reception that more accurately reflects your personal tastes in music and that of the majority of your guests. If you prefer country or Celtic music, for example, how much more preferable would that be over a DJ who offers only canned music via CDs? If chosen carefully, the cost of live music could be equal to or even less than the cost of a DJ, and often a live group can go farther in engaging the guests who attend your reception.
Participation from the audience in singing with the band would be encouraged, whereas this might not be possible with a DJ. Dancing as a participatory exercise for more ages might be possible for guests at a reception where there is an abundance of songs familiar to a greater population of your guests.
To your beautiful wedding reception!

What kinda speakers do i need for dj-ing for weddings/proms/school dance?
I’m startin to get involved in dj-ing, but i want to make sure i find and pick the right speakers 1st. I’ve been looking at speakers that range from 300watts to 600 watts. Im curios, as to what would be the ideal amount of watts to use for certian functions. Im generally going to be dj-ing for weddings and school dances. Also, im running on a small budget, so i want to know how much i would need, so i can keep my pocket from going empty. I don’t want to buy 600 watt speakers, and only have to use half of it’s power. And i don’t to buy 300 watt speakers, and twice as much power! And i want to know if perhaps, i would need speakers that have more than 600 watts? Im new to dj-ing obviously, so any help is appreciated. I recently bought the numark mobile dj-in-a-box package, so i can get started on mixing and what not, but now i need to look into getting speakers, so i can play these mixes and hear how they’ll sound on my actual potential speakers. I also noticed that many speakers for sale come with amps, so do i really need an amp, or are there speakers out there with built in amp, so i can simply connect the speakers to my laptop via RCA audio cables? because i don’t want to go through the hassle of buying an amp, if i don’t need to. But if having an amp brings out much better quality, then i guess i’ll have to buy it. PLZZZZ HELP!!
if this is of any help, im using CUE 5.0, NUMARK TOTAL CONTROL BOARD, Treaktor LE, and an DJIO interface.
